SUPERNATURAL POWER

Open your heart for God's Word when you read this faith message from evangelist Sieberen Voordewind. There is a POWER greater than all the POWERS of this world. The greatest POWER is: supernatural POWER. The greatest power anyone can experience is God's POWER. The Bible says in Acts 1:8a: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you..." The Bible says: "... YOU will receive POWER..." The word "YOU" means: "The believers in JESUS CHRIST." The word "YOU" means: "The christians." Everyone who follow JESUS CHRIST can receive Gods power. Yes, the greatest power is not, is not, is not from this world. The GREATEST POWER is SUPERNATURAL POWER! The greatest power comes from The Living God! The Bible says in Acts 2:2: "Suddenly a sound like blowing of a violent wind came from HEAVEN..." Yes, The Holy Spirit came from heaven. The Holy Spirit came not from America. The Holy Spirit came not from Africa. The Holy Spirit came not from The Netherlands. The Holy Spirit came from heaven!! The power of the Holy Spirit came from heaven! Jesus said in John 14:26: "But the Counselor, the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in My Name..." The Holy Spirit came from The Living God! The supernatural power came from The Living God. And the supernatural power is for every christian!
In the Bible we read that the apostle Paul asked the 12 followers of Jesus Christ in Ephesus: "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" This we can read in Acts 19. But how do you think the believers answered? They answered: "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." Because he was dealing with believers, Brother Paul assumed that they had been baptized with water. Therefore he asked: "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. And so they were baptized again but this time in the miraculous name of the Lord Jesus. But that wasn't all, because these sincere believers were still not filled with the Holy Spirit! It wasn't until Paul placed his hands on them, that the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
Also in these times there are dear people who are followers of the Lord Jesus but are not filled with the Holy Spirit. O, they possibly visit the church faithfully each week. They may even be a part of an evangelism activity. They talk about Jesus. They talk about the Holy Spirit. But what is missing in their life is a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. To talk about, sing about or read about the Holy Spirit is not the same as getting to know Him. If you really want to get to know this person than it is necessary to have contact with him. You allow him in your home. You talk to him. You accompany him when he's going places. This truth is similar to the spiritual world. In order to really get to know the Holy Spirit you must have contact with him. You must allow him in your life. You must talk with him. And when he talks to you, you must listen. And if he points you the way, then you must go that way with him. This is how you get to know him. What an amazing life. It isn't a formal religion but life with the Holy Spirit. And that is possible for you as well. The Lord Jesus wants to give you the Holy Spirit. But there is a price to pay. Not a monetary price. In the bible we read about a man who thought he could buy the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter 8 we read: "When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money and said, "Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit." Peter answered: "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!"
The Holy Spirit can not be bought with money. Also the Holy Spirit cannot be gotten through hard work. The Holy Spirit cannot be gotten through membership with a church. The Holy Spirit does not come from man. The Holy Spirit does not come from America or Africa. The Holy Spirit does not come from the Pentecost movement. The Holy Spirit comes from the Living God, the creator of heaven and earth! The Almighty God wants to fill you with His Spirit. What are the requirements you have to meet?
When the Lord Jesus was still on this earth he said: "If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever" John 14:15-16.
The Lord God wants to give you the Holy Spirit if you love His Son Jesus Christ and obeys what he wants you to do. Do you want to receive the Holy Spirit? Then you will need Jesus Christ in the first place. Love him and obey him. Wherever you are, in the living room, car, jail, trailer or wherever: to be able to receive the Holy Spirit you will first need Jesus! Come to Jesus at this very moment. If you are ready say this out loud: "Dear Lord Jesus. I come to you as I am. I no longer want to follow my own path but yours. Will you forgive me all of my sins and cleanse me with your precious blood. Take me as your child. I thank you for forgiving me all of my sins and that I am your child." If you have prayed these words sincerely then you are a child of the Living God. And if you sincerely love Jesus Christ and want to follow him, you too can receive the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit will show you the way to the truth. The Holy Spirit will comfort when you have sorrow. The Holy Spirit makes you Holy. The Holy Spirit helps you to pray. The Holy Spirit teaches you and the Holy Spirit gives you power. The bible says in Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses".
What does the Holy Spirit give you? Power! Do you need power? The Holy Spirit wants to give it to you. When I was baptized with the Holy Spirit at age 15, I not only spoke in tongues, the super natural powers that Spirit of God gives but I also felt the power of Gods Spirit. What was the result? From within that Godly power I was a witness of Jesus Christ and still am. First the Holy Spirit and then action. First the Holy Spirit and then evangelism. Without the Holy Spirit everything you and I say and do is of our own power. Without the Holy Spirit you and I come with the wisdom of man. In the bible we read that Paul says: "When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power"
You can read this in 1 Corinthians chapter 2. Yes I also do not come to you with the wisdom of men but with the wisdom that comes from the Living God. I also come to you in demonstration of Gods Spirit and Power. I do not come to you with a teaching of man. No doctrine from a church or movement. I am not bringing you religion because religion says: that you shall be saved through hard work. Forgiveness of sins is free of charge. Baptism with the Holy Spirit is free of charge. With the help of the bible I come to you with the message that the Living God has given me through his Spirit. O, I am not speaking from my own power but from Gods power. You don't need my power but Gods power. You need the Holy Spirit! No matter if you are a pastor, priest, minister, and evangelist, elder or pastoral worker or not: you need the Holy Spirit. Every follower of Jesus Christ needs the Holy Spirit!! Not for just a little while. Not just on Saturday or Sunday. Not only in times of trouble. We need the Holy Spirit every night and every day! Every hour! Each second. The bible says that Jesus Christ was filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:38 says: "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, "
If Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God needed the Holy Spirit, how much more do you and I need Him? The Lord Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit and so should his followers be. To follow Jesus also means to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Now I know there are devout people that say they are a follower of Jesus Christ, but they resist the Holy Spirit. In the bible, in Acts chapter 7:51 we read that Stephen said to the devout people: "You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!"
And what happened a short while later? The bible says that Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit and there were devout people who stoned him until he died.
Yes, even today there are people who resist the Holy Spirit. And not just the Holy Spirit but also Christians that are filled with the Holy Spirit. There are people that resist spirit filled messages such as this one. Yes, there are people that have called themselves Christians and have thrown spiritual stones at me and at many other spirit filled Christians. When a Christian is filled with the Holy Spirit, there is resistance as well. But in Gods power we do not fear enemies. In Gods Power we do not fear lies, slander and other attacks from devout or non devout people. In the power of the Holy Spirit, together with Jesus Christ we are more then conquerors! In the power of the Holy Spirit we move forward! Why? Because the best life is a life with the Living God, with Jesus Christ and with the Holy Spirit.
And now, how this concerns you. Do you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit right now? Would you like life after this broadcast to be different than it is now?
If you long for the baptism with the Holy Spirit, open your heart and soul to Him at this very moment. Because the bible says in Acts 10:44 "While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message".
At this moment the Holy Spirit wants to come over you while you are listening to this Spirit filled faith building message. Yes, this is your day to REVEIVE SUPERNATURAL POWER! This is your moment. The Holy Spirit is not bound to a time or place. There is no fixed method in which to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Stand up in faith and expect that the Living God will fill you with His Spirit during this broadcast.
Raise your hands up in the air, while I pray for you.
"O, almighty God and Father, in the miraculous name of Jesus Christ I come to you with the one who longs to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. We do not want to doubt but believe that you at this very moment will pour out your Spirit on each and everyone listening and on your servant. That is why I ask you: Please let your Godly power go out and fill each who believes and reaches out to you with the Holy Spirit. We praise and glorify and thank you for this."
And my dear friend: receive the Holy Spirit this very moment. Receive Gods power and glory. Receive it NOW in the name of Jesus and thank Him for it. Stand up in faith and walk with the Holy Spirit.
